8 Most-Reviewed Fence Companies in Middle Tennessee (2026)
Fencing is one of the few outdoor projects where the quote is simple and the workmanship is not: line, post depth, gate hardware and how the fence handles a slope are what separate a fence that lasts twenty years from one that leans in three.
This is not a quality ranking. It lists the eight Middle Tennessee fence companies with the highest review counts recorded in the MidTen Home Pros directory, in order. Eight, not ten — see the selection note below.

How we selected these companies
Each company is an approved, live listing in the MidTen Home Pros directory, anywhere in Middle Tennessee, with fencing among its listed services and reviews recorded. The order is review count, highest first, with rating breaking ties.
This list stops at eight on purpose. Below Proper Deck and Fence, the remaining fencing listings with any reviews drop to three reviews and then one — too little to rank meaningfully. We also left out listings that carry fencing as a sideline to mowing, pest control or general home repair. Paid placements on MidTen play no part in the selection or the order.
1. Stratton Exteriors
Stratton Exteriors leads on recorded reviews with 86 at 4.5, working out of Nashville. Its listing covers general contracting alongside fencing, so it is an exteriors company rather than a fence specialist.
2. Aguila's Outdoor Improvements LLC
Aguila's Outdoor Improvements has 69 reviews at 4.7 from Clarksville, with concrete work alongside fencing — useful if posts, a pad or a walkway are part of the same job.
3. MJ Fence And Deck Builders
MJ Fence And Deck Builders has 64 reviews at 4.7, based in Mount Juliet and covering both fencing and decks.
4. Quality Fence and Deck LLC
Quality Fence and Deck has 57 reviews at 4.9 — the strongest rating among the busier companies here — working out of Smyrna.
5. Sunset Fence and Decks Inc.
Sunset Fence and Decks has 53 reviews at 4.9, based in Manchester and well placed for the southern end of the region.
6. Rock N Decks And Fences
Rock N Decks And Fences also has 53 reviews, at 4.8, from Clarksville.
7. Twin Pines Fence & Deck
Twin Pines Fence & Deck has 21 reviews at 4.8, based in Columbia and covering Maury County and nearby.
8. Proper Deck and Fence
Proper Deck and Fence closes the list with 19 reviews at a 5.0 rating, from Mount Juliet. A smaller recorded count than the companies above it, so read the reviews rather than the rating alone.
How to choose a fence company in Middle Tennessee
- Confirm the property line before anyone digs. A survey pin or a survey is cheaper than moving a finished fence.
- Ask about post depth and setting. Middle Tennessee has shallow rock in plenty of places; ask what happens, and what it costs, when they hit it.
- Get the gate spec in writing — frame, hinges, latch, and whether wide gates get a drop rod or a wheel. Gates fail first.
- Ask how slopes are handled: stepped panels or racked panels, and what the gap at grade will be if you have a dog.
- Check HOA and local rules on height, material and which side faces out before you order.
- Call 811 for utility locates — the contractor should be arranging this as a matter of course.
- Compare like with like. Pressure-treated pine, cedar, vinyl and aluminium quotes are not interchangeable, and neither are post spacings.
Are these the best fence companies in Middle Tennessee?
No. The order reflects review counts recorded in the MidTen directory, not a verdict on workmanship or price.
Why only eight companies?
Because only eight fencing listings in our directory have enough recorded reviews to rank honestly. The next companies down have three reviews and one.
Where do these review counts come from?
They are the counts held in MidTen directory data at the time this article was prepared. They shift over time, so check current figures on each profile.
Does paying MidTen get a company onto this list?
No. Premium profiles, featured placements and sponsorships are labelled wherever they appear and have no bearing here.
What does a new fence cost in Middle Tennessee?
